Ulrike Schentzinger
Background
Ulrike has been working in pharmaceutical sales in Germany for over 33 years and has advised doctors on various indications. She is active in the German medical cannabis sector since its beginning in 2017, familiarizing herself with the treatment of seriously ill patients with cannabis extracts across different positions in leading cannabis companies. She has undergone additional training in 2020 to become an ACM-certified consultant, where she deepened her practical knowledge of cannabinoid therapies.
At the German Cannabis Academy, she has been giving lectures on cannabis extracts as part of her training as an expert on cannabis in medicine since 2024 and hopes to pass on her knowledge to future counsellors for patients.
Motivation
“Treatment with cannabinoids is challenging. The drugs that have been used by doctors to date mostly work at a neuronal level. In my conventional medical training, I have heard nothing about the endocannabinoid system and its important role in neuronal regulation and regeneration into balance (cell homeostasis).
The multifactorial approach of this therapy is particularly fascinating, as well as the continuous new insights into the mode of action of the various cannabinoids. And I simply enjoy offering doctors in practices and clinics this therapy option as an alternative and accompanying them on their journey with cannabis.”
